Features

GAS-FREE WELDING - WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE
All PATON MIG/MAG welding machines are adapted for welding with self-protected wire. This welding, unlike traditional MIG/MAG welding, is performed without using shielding gas - however, it requires a special welding wire. The wire produces its own shielding which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-protecting wire suitable for PATON welding machines can be bought here - spools of 5 kg of wire fit all wire feeders.

SOLDERING - INDUCTANCE ADJUSTMENT
Paton MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series have brazing capabilities thanks to the three-step inductance change function. Thanks to inductance control, the arc characteristics can be optimised according to the thickness of the part to be welded. This function is needed to change the speed of the current when the arc voltage is changed. The thinner the part to be welded by MIG/MAG, the higher the induction should be (soft arc - less melting), for thicker parts the opposite (hard arc - more melting).

PULSE FUNCTION IN ALL METHODS

Welding unit ProMIG 350 (15-4) 400 V PATON™ with water cooling designed for semi-automatic MIG/MAG arc welding, gas-insulated arc welding with TIG method and manual arc welding with MMA-insulated electrode, direct current (DC) with PULSE function. The use of a fully electronic control method in this series eliminates defects characteristic of multifunctional systems. In a fully electronic system, the control system has absolutely all the resources of the source, within the limits of its full power and regardless of which method is used.

The Professional series devices are designed for semi-industrial and industrial use, the source can be separated from the welding wire feed mechanism for convenience and safety. They offer an operating cycle of 70% at a full rated current of 350 A with no loss of performance or quality. This makes it possible to use solid wire of 0.6 ... 1.2 mm in the GMAW method and a coated electrode of 1.6 ... 6 mm (SMAW). The unit allows polarity change, allowing us to weld with a self-shielding wire (FCAW). For hazardous conditions, this unit incorporates an MMA Idle Voltage Derating Unit, with the ability to switch it on and off. Upon completion of the welding process, the voltage at the source terminals is reduced to a safe level of 12 V within 0.1 seconds.

These welding machine ProMIG 350 are protected against the penetration of foreign particles larger than 2.5 mm and against raindrops if the raindrops fall at an angle of not more than 60 degrees to the vertical surfaces of the welding machine. • Inductance control function - Inductance control allows the arc characteristics to be optimised as a function of the welded thickness element and the welding method and conditions. This function is needed to change the slew rate of the current when the arc voltage changes. The thinner the element to be welded using the with MIG/MAG method, the higher the inductance (soft arc - less fusion), for thick elements the other way round (hard arc - greater embedding).

Designed for manual MMA arc welding with direct current, allowing you to work with any electrode: from Ø1.6 mm to Ø2.5 mm, in the durable duty cycle no less than 60%, allowing you to do most work in the domestic sector (summer farms, workshops, etc.). • Clean welding results thanks to Hot-Start Function - The Hot-Start function of the electrode welding unit ensures that an increased welding current is automatically and quickly ensured at the start of the welding process. Due to this "hot start", the weld seam is heated directly at the starting point, so the electrode does not stick and ensures stable and clean welding results from the very first moment.
• With a full 100A, a duty cycle of 60 per cent is achieved. By bringing the power up to 77A, the duty cycle can be increased to allow welding without interruption. No protective gas is needed to precisely use this manual welding unit even in adverse conditions, such as strong altitude wind
• Overheating indicator - If the machine stops during welding, check the overheating indicator. The maximum duty cycle has been reached and the machine automatically switches to cooling mode when the indicator LED lights up. When the LED is no longer lit, you can continue welding.
• Anti-Stick - This function allows the welder to easily separate the electrode from the product. In the event of a short circuit (if present), the welding current is automatically reduced after a short interruption. Once the electrode is separated from the component, the source automatically restores its function. If the electrode is bonded to the workpiece, the welding current decreases within 0.6 ... 0.8 s after bonding. The temporary reduction in welding current makes it easier for the welder to pull off the stuck electrode. After separating the electrode from the product, the welding process can be resumed without any problems.
